PostNet reserves the right to inspect parcels in accordance with clause 108.03.8 of Part 108 legislation. Sending illegal or prohibited items is a criminal offence and will result in prosecution.
The following items are NOT permitted when sending a courier:

Volumetric Weight
It is an industry standard that courier consignments are charged at the greater of either the actual weight or volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is calculated by multiplying the length, breadth and height (in centimetres) and dividing this by the applicable volumetric conversion factor which is 5000.

We offer an economy service to all areas in South Africa. Economy is generally utilised for bulky and heavy goods. Your shipment will be delivered within 2 to 3 *working days when sending from a Main Centre.
In the event of the delivery being to a Regional Area, allow for 3 to 4 *working days for delivery.
* Public Holidays & Weekends are not working days.
This is an express overnight service between all Main Centre's and their immediate surrounds. Your shipment will be delivered the following working day to all major centres.

All shipments carry a complimantary R1000 insurance value. Should you require insurance for a higher value of goods whilst in transit, PostNet makes use of authorised insurance brokers to provide this service. Please make sure you state the correct value of the goods sent.

Yes.
Should you not have proper packaging for your shipment, PostNet can help you to package your parcel. We sell postal tubes, bubble wrap, padded envelopes, polystyrene chips and cardboard boxes.
Any additional packaging will be charged for for by the store.
The drivers are on a fixed route and only have a limited time to make delivery before they have to move on to the next delivery. Therefore it is not possible to request a delivery at a specific time. If no one is available to receive the delivery the driver will return the shipment and attempt delivery the next working day.
